Letter from SAH WiA AG Chair

December 20, 2021

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Thank you for your support and engagement, resilience and strength, compassion and creativity, high-quality research and synergy!

This year has challenged every aspect of our life, we all have been tested and have adapted new ways of working together.  Our SAH Women in Architecture AG directory is grown to over 400 members.  We are expanding our programming, strengthening our logistics, have received numerous letters from our members, the SAH Board, and in sisterhood from our colleagues across continents.  Our team is maintaining the SAH WiA AG website and five SAH WiA group communication platforms. Join us online!

Our programs include: National Outreach, International Collaboration, the Annual March Program Celebrating Women’s History Month, SAH CONNECTS webinars, and panels at the SAH Annual International Conference.  Among our collaborative projects is the publication initiative with SAH Archipedia.  We established two vital committees: SAH WiA AG Registers Committee and SAH WiA AG Legacy Committee tasked to develop a database documenting, recognizing and celebrating women’s professional leadership and contribution to the built environment.  This year’s accomplishment is the publication of the first SAH Women in Architecture Bibliography integrating over 1,100 titles.  Please email us your references for the expanded 2022 publication!

My sincere gratitude goes to SAH President and Board and to Women in Architecture group Leadership Team.  Our SAH WiA AG would not have progressed without continuous creative contribution by these scholars.
